With the Conti-TAB, the functions of the Conti laser welding machine have also been available for the production of Tailored Aluminium Blanks and Tailored Stainless Steel Blanks for several years. 

The Conti-TAB laser welding machine can cover almost all common component dimensions. Whether it is a small support part, a B-pillar, a door inner panel or a large-format sunroof part, it can be manufactured on the Conti-TAB laser welding machine. 

The design principle of the Conti-TAB laser welding machine makes it possible to manufacture all these different parts with the same equipment. No component-specific clamping devices or the like are necessary for this. A particular advantage is that the machine automatically adapts to the next product to be produced. The conversion times are correspondingly minimal. 

A central advantage of the Conti-TAB laser welding machine is its very low idle time. The components are carried out continuously and with only minimal gaps between the components under the laser beam. In this way, the highest possible outputs can be achieved with the Conti-TAB laser welding system. 

It is not crucial that the customer loads the components onto the system with high accuracy since the actual alignment and positioning of the components are only carried out by the machine. The customer only has to place the components within a loading window and the machine takes care of everything else. 

The integrated “gap control loop” of the Conti-TAB laser welding machine also automatically adapts the welding to the current material quality of the components.
